HENK OPGENOORT: A LIFE SPENT ON AIRPLANES AND BIKE
My name is Henk and I am a pilot for KLM. I fly around the World, but I am also an avid cyclist. Both of these activities are very important to me, in addition of course to my family; I have two small children with my wife, who also used to work for KLM as a hostess.
When I come home to Amsterdam to recuperate from those long flights, I relax by riding one of my two Baum Cycles model bikes and both are equipped with the Selle San Marco Aspide Carbon FX model. Both Aspide saddles are authentic works of art, perfectly aligned with the design of the frame developed by Mike Peel from Busyman.
Three years ago, I started testing my first Baum Corretto, which I obtained thanks to Bureau Fidder, the European importer for Baum Cycles. This year they launched the new Baum ORBIS with disk brakes. When I spoke with Bureau, over a lovely Rocket espresso, my only demand was that this model also be fitted with the Selle San Marco Aspide model. The shape of the saddle is sleek and the technology of the materials is highly performing.
Being a pilot is definitely not your usual job, because I have to spend long days on an airplane, but I can always find some time for cycling. I manage to enjoy this passion and also spend a few days’ holiday in the Dolomites on the saddle of my bike.
I like always choosing my own road, without compromise, in work as well as on my bike.
Greetings to all from the skies and the roads…
