Samuele Porro is the new Italian Marathon Champion. The athlete from Team Trek-Selle San Marco has decisively won the Assietta Legend al Sestriere (TO), a race worth the Italian title as a single test.

On a 93-km route featuring an altitude difference of more than 3000 m, Samuele Porro held on to the lead from the get go.

After a compelling duel with Juri Ragnoli (Scott Racing Team), the man from Brescia who won the last two editions of the Italian Marathon Championship, Samuele Porro managed to get the upper hand on Monte Fraiteve, making it to the final finish line all by himself.

“I managed to shake Ragnoli on the final climb and created a slight advantage which I was then able to control until the finish line,” explains Samuele Porro, who is on his third national title after the ones he scored in the 2014-2015 biennial“It was a very tactical race. For me this is a magical victory, coming at the end of a gruelling test.”

For his performance the new Italian Marathon Champion could count on the support of the Mantra (Open-Fit) model from the Selle San Marco collection. Mantra is the result of a study in ergonomics aimed at offering a flat profile of the saddle that could meet the performance needs of the most demanding cyclists.

Mantra, the saddle of the Italian National Champion!
